Dragon Keeper-Carole Wilkinson

Dragon Keeper is about a Chinese servant girl named Ping, who lives in Huangling Mountain. On the same mountain lives the imperial dragons of China. One day, when she was going to feed the dragons, she finds out that one of them had died. Her master, Master Lan, makes the dragon into a pickle to hide the incident. Later in the day, Ping sets the last dragon free. The dragon, whose name was Danzi, was protecting a purple stone Danzi called dragon stone. Danzi and Ping set out on a journey across China to the Pacific Ocean. The two encounter dragon hunters and meet many friendly people. This book would probably suit girls better, but it is also a good book for those who like magic.

  1. Dragon Keeper by Carole Wilkinson is a mindblowing fantasy full of action and wisdom. A nameless servant on Huangling Mountain was raised by a terrible master. She lives on the mountain with two imperial dragons. When one dies, her master turns the dragon into pickle, meat perserved. The nameless servant realizes her name is Ping by the last dragon, Long Danzi. Danzi and Ping run away and travel to the Ocean. They want to travel to the ocean because Danzi has a dragon stone that needs the healing powers of the Ocean. Ping and Danzi meet dragon hunters that want to sell dragon hearts, lungs, blood, and the dragon stone. Also, they travel along the Yellow River and meet new people. But, some people aren’t what they seem. They betray and try to kill. They also find out that the dragon stone is really a dragon egg.

This is an amazing book! I really enjoyed it. I love fantasy and this soothed my thirst of reading. I think it would be great for boys and girls. I don’t think it matters if the girl is a main character.
