Devon’s mom always told her that karma always comes back to get you, that must be true. Now, Devon’s has got a lot of damage control to do. She told her “summer friend” Lexi not only that she was really popular at her school, but that she was also dating Jared Brentley. Now that Lexi moved to Devon’s town in Connecticut and has to go to Devon’s school, Devon’s in trouble. So she has to find out how to ‘hang’ with the popular crew, and how to pretend that she’s dating Jared in front of Lexi (without Jared knowing, of course.) As she tries to keep up with her “image,” more things go wrong! Her family thinks she’s nuts, her best friend, Melissa, won’t even speak to her, and, to make things worse, Jared starts crushing on Lexi, and Devon starts crushing on Jared’s best friend! All this has Devon really wondering – who is the real Devon anyway? I really enjoyed this priceless and witty story as Devon finds friendship and love. I think this story would appeal a lot more to girls than boys and I really recommend it. It makes you want to laugh-out-loud and maybe even shed a few tears.
