Each Little Bird that Sings – Deborah Wiles

This is a story about Comfort Snowberger who has a very unusual life.  She lives with her family in a funeral home and has a large crazy family.  This story blends humor with drama because things in her life start going wrong.  She is losing her best friend and having to deal with death in a more personal way.  Although, this book might appeal to girls more, the humor and message would be a great story for anyone.  You will quickly get sucked into Comfort’s life and feel what she does as she struggles to deal with the events happening. It is definitely a G book.  Enjoy.

  3. I read this book a while ago. I thought this was a great book but it was a little sad. I would recommend this book to many people. I love this book!

  4. I read this book, too! I absolutely loved it! I agree with Mrs. Phillips that it’s better for girls. One thing she forgot to mention, though, was that Comfort has a little cousin Peach coming to her aunt’s funeral. Her great-aunt just died as well as her uncle. Comfort’s cousin Peach, is the most annoying, immature, crying baby that she has ever met. I think that this was important to mention because this was one of Comfort’s big life problems. She has to take care of Peach. Both Peach and Comfort learn something new about each other. If you love dogs, than the end will really catch your attention and you won’t be able to put it down. I would rate this book 8 out of 10. I hope you read this book!

  5. I loved reading this book! I also agree that this is a book for girls. This book is about a girl, Comfort Snowberg, who lives and grows up in a funeral home. She has a loving Great-great-aunt who she calls Aunt Florentine, and a loving Great-uncle Edisto. When Uncle Edisto and Aunt Florentine die Comfort feels miserable. She now has to take care of her whinny cousin Peach who takes death hard, and her best friend has turned into a bully. This book can be sad at times, but not sad enough for me to cry. Did I mention that my favorite character is Comfort’s dog, Dismay. I love that Comfort is adventorous. I get annoyed with Comfort sometimes because she doesn’t try to get to know Peach. She doesn’t think of Peache’s feelings and how she hurts them. She just thinks Peach is whinny and annoying. Comfort gets annoyed when he ruins Uncle Edisto’s funeral by fainting into the punch bowl. I got frustrated because she is probably used to funerals, but Peach is not. There is so much more I want to tell you, but your going to have to read it yourself. I hope you read this amazing book!
