Dear 3rd Grade Families,

I want to let you know that we started our digital Animal Report this week. Since next week is a four day school week, we will focus on the Animal Report, Opinion Writing, and our new unit in Social Studies: The Earliest Americans. There will not be a Spelling list next week, or selection from the Anthology.

This past week, students started work on weekly Vocabulary Slides assignments (Google Classroom). The purpose is to give them deeper understanding of new vocabulary words realated to the Anthology selection. All weekly Vocabulary assignments are due the Friday of that week and are worth 5 points. Students missing this week’s Vocabulary Slides can still turn it in by Monday, September 2.

Math: Distributive Property Lesson 3.1

Parents, students were given the option of completing either the Practice Buddy (PB digital homework) or a paper Reteach page. They should complete what they decided to do for homework.

Spelling: sentences 6-10 please make sure they are writing sentences that show they understand the meaning of the spelling word. In other words, they should use context clues.

Ex: I saw a toad. (not meaningful)

Laura saw a huge toad jump into the pond at the park. (meaningful because of the context clue “jump into the pond”)
