Kristin Bruni lives in Chicago and studied art and Interior Design at the Illinois State University and then later earned a bachelor of Fine Arts from Columbia College in 1994.  She started to create tables and lamps out of different materials and then started to take pictures in the year 2003.  Her signature style is mirror images as shown below.

In photography I enjoy using photoshop to create surreal images and convey messages.  For example in my self portrait photo I used photoshop brushes to create the music notes and paint splatter which represents some of my hobbies.  I also like to create posters using type and simple pictures in the background.  For my I focus more on how to add things to simple pictures to make them more visually appealing.  Right now i’m working on learning new mediums such as oil pastels along with learning more about the photoshop tools.

Information

For my final Photo project, I’m going to take pictures that draw inspiration from photographer and illustrator Andre De Freitas.  He graduated from  Full Sail University with a degree in computer animation, however was more interested in illustration.  While his website features more illustrations, he also takes photographs.  Most of his photographs are double exposure and feature people in the foreground with a city or nature in the background.

My Ideas

For my pictures I am going to take pictures of my sister, mom and cousin and for the background take pictures of plants in my backyard and pictures of my mom’s orchids and then use photoshop to change the opacity and attempt to imitate Andre De Freitas’s photography work.  I should have it done but this weekend, Monday at the latest.
