“Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” Green Day Lyrics Pictures

The song “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” by Green Day is about living life to the fullest. It is about the decisions you will have to make during your lifetime while also remembering the past and where you came from. In the first image, I used the quote, “Time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go.” I showed this in a picture by having a person grab another person’s wrist. The second picture’s quote is, “It’s not a question, but a lesson learned in time.” This quote is expressed by having her thinking as if she is questioning something. “Tattoos and memories and dead skin on trial,” is the quote I used for my third image. In the picture, a girl is lying on a bench as though she is “dead” and along her arm, the word memories is written to represent the “dead skin on trial” and since memories is “tattooed” onto her arm, it shows the “tattoos and memories” line of the song. While I was creating the images on Photoshop, I used Levels, Color Balance, and Hue/Saturation to “WOW” it. I also utilized the text box to drop in the words of the lyrics.

Social Issue

Bullying is my social issue. I decided to use it for my social issue poster because many people are affected by bullying. In fact, each year, over 3.2 million students are victims of bullying. This means that 1 out of 7 students from kindergarten to 12th grade is either a bully or a victim of bullying. Bullying often involves teasing, talking about hurting someone, spreading harmful rumors, leaving other kids out on purpose, and attacking someone verbally or physically. In fact, 160,000 children miss school every day because of bullying. If bullying becomes harmful enough, students may even drop out of school, with studies finding that every 1 in 10 students who drops out of school does so because of repeated bullying. Also, in some extreme cases of bullying, students may even commit suicide or homicide. In fact, suicide rates have increased by over 50% in the last 3 decades among 10-14 year olds, and a likely cause is from bullying. Also, many people who commit homicide were twice as likely as their homicide victims to have been repeatedly bullied by their peers.
