Cherries are my favorite fruit and here are some reasons and what about cherries. In 1600s cherries were bought to America. The state of Michiagan produces the most cherries. They produce about 2oo-250 million pounds of tart cherries per year. In 1852, Peter Doughery, was a Presbyterian missionary living in northern Michigan, cheery trees on a place named Old Mansion Peninsula (near Traverse city, Michigan). It was a suprise to farmers and indians who lived in the area, Doughery’s cherry trees went all around residents around the area. The area proved to be ideal because of the tempers the artic winds in winter and cools the orchards in summer. This is a fact not a opinon, cherry pie filling is the number one filling ever served in the U.S. Tart cherries have higher beta carotene than strawberries and strawberries. Cherries also cherries contain Vitamin C and Vitamin E and also provide potassium, magnesium, folate, iron, and fiber.
