On Monday, all the 6th graders at Union House Elementary School went to Samuel Jackman Middle School to experience how it’s like in middle school. When we arrived, we entered the gym. There were 3 events that I enjoyed the most while I was there; the rally, the lunch, and the assembly. I didn’t really enjoy the classes because they were boring.
When we got into the gym they handed everyone a schedule, then in the gym they were having a rally with music playing and it was very noisy. We played a lyrics game and most of the players didn’t know what the lyrics were. After the rally I was sent to the M.P. Room for student counseling, and they were talking about how middle school will be and even some 8th graders told us about middle school. After that, we were sent to a classroom and in the classroom they taught us how to do Cornell Notes. After the class was finished we went to lunch and then after that we ended our day with an assembly and then we went back to Union House.
My academic goal is to do and turn in all my homework on time, my behavior goal is to talk less during class. How I will achieve these goals is to think before I talk and pay a lot of attention during class.
I don’t look forward to 7th grade because some of my closest friends aren’t going to the same middle school I’m going to. Plus, I don’t want 90 minutes of homework because that’s too much thinking for me and I get distracted easily. Well that’s basically it. :]
