SJMS Field Trip

On Monday, all the 6th graders at Union House Elementary School went to Samuel Jackman Middle School to experience how it’s like in middle school. When we arrived, we entered the gym. There were 3 events that I enjoyed the most while I was there; the rally, the lunch, and the assembly. I didn’t really enjoy the classes because they were boring.

When we got into the gym they handed everyone a schedule, then in the gym they were having a rally with music playing and it was very noisy. We played a lyrics game and most of the players didn’t know what the lyrics were. After the rally I was sent to the M.P. Room for student counseling, and they were talking about how middle school will be and even some 8th graders told us about middle school. After that, we were sent to a classroom and in the classroom they taught us how to do Cornell Notes. After the class was finished we went to lunch and then after that we ended our day with an assembly and then we went back to Union House.

My academic goal is to do and turn in all my homework on time, my behavior goal is to talk less during class. How I will achieve these goals is to think before I talk and pay a lot of attention during class.

I don’t look forward to 7th grade because some of my closest friends aren’t going to the same middle school I’m going to. Plus, I don’t want 90 minutes of homework because that’s too much thinking for me and I get distracted easily. Well that’s basically it. :]

My Favorite Day of Last Week was..

Last week half of my class went to Sly Park and I had to stay back, and my favorite day of  that week was on Friday; when we went to the State Capitol and IMAX Theatre for a field trip. It was funny because we almost got kicked out for being too loud at the State Capitol. At the State Capitol our tour guide gave us a tour and told us about the government and she even showed us our governer’s office, but overall it was pretty boring.. After our tour we walked to IMAX in a big group. When we got to the movie theatre we had to wait a while until the movie actually started. The movie was interesting and it showed us when the air force went to Haiti to help them after the massive earthquake. After that we walked back to the Capitol to have lunch, then we drove back to school after, when we got to school, school wasn’t over yet so we watched “Casper” (a movie) until school ended. During the movie, Marilet, Colby, and Jose G. busted into the classroom and everyone was screaming. It was pretty funny and I was glad they finally came back because all week I was so bored all alone at school. Well , that’s my favorite day of that week :]

My Fall/Winter Break

This is how my Fall/Winter break went..

On Thanksgiving I went to my Uncle’s house to have a family dinner with all my family from my dad’s side. It was fun there, we ate and talked and that’s basically what we did, now that i think of it…it was actually kinda boring. At night I went Black Friday shopping with my mom, aunt, and grandma. First we went to Target for a little bit then we came back to my house and waited till midnight to go to the mall. When we got to the mall it was very crowded and a took a long time to find a parking spot. When got into Macy’s, we started searching for clothes and shoes. After we left Macy’s we walked to Express, only my mom and aunt went inside. After we left the mall, we took my grandma and aunt home while me and my mom left to do some more shopping at Old Navy and Ulta. When we finally finished shopping, we went home and it was about 5:30am and I was pretty tired. So that is how my Thanksgiving went.

Then during the after Thanksgiving and before Christmas period, I went Christmas shopping, wrapped some presents, and played on the computer. I got presents for my best friends and my mom.  I didn’t really do much during that time.

Then on Christmas Eve I went to my other Uncle’s house to have dinner and open presents. I got some clothes and 2 new backpacks.  On Christmas Day I went to San Jose to visit my other family. It was really fun, we had a feast, listened to music, and I got to try apple cider for the first time, and it was really good. I only stayed for a day but I wished I stayed longer.

Then on New Year’s Eve I went to my dad’s friends house, I didn’t do much but it was fun hanging out with my nieces Emma and Ella. I did the countdown with Emma, she didn’t know what was going on though. Then when we went home watched “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Eve Special” with my family, every one was sleeping while I was texting my friend. I don’t remember how long I stayed up for though. Then on New Year’s Day I went to the mall and then I went to my grandma’s house for her birthday.

Well, that’s what I did on break.
