Digital Photography Pathway — The Digital Photography program prepares students for a variety of opportunities in the everchanging digital world. Students receive a broad overview of computer software programs through an exciting range of courses starting in their freshman year. Students gain practical knowledge in composition, subject treatment, interaction of light and shadow, photojournalism, creativity, image editing software and output. It also introduces the aesthetic and technical theories and techniques of photography. In their junior and senior year, students expand their knowledge by preparing a digital portfolio to be used for post-secondary college and career opportunities.

Fashion and Merchandising Pathway — The Fashion and Interior Design Industry sector is a multi-billion-dollar enterprise offering a wide variety of careers. A particularly high-demand exists for pre-production jobs which may involve computerized pattern-making and product data-management. Self-motivation, confidence as well as creativity are traits that lead to success in this sector.

Green Energy Technology Academy (GETA) — The LCHS Green Energy Tech Academy (GETA) is a four-year high school program dedicated to preparing students to enter two-or four-year colleges, begin a technical training program or head directly into the work force. GETA teaches the concepts of energy extraction, conversion and transmission processes through complex, hands-on, project-based work.
THE GETA FAMILY – GETA students learn and excel together. Whether it is investigating energy conversions at a behind-the-scenes tour of Six Flags theme park, physically supporting each other in team-building activities at the Ropes Course or collaborating on their core academic course assignments, academy students study together in a family-like atmosphere. GETA teachers follow this same team approach when collaborating on cross-curricular lessons to show students connections while monitoring student development both inside and outside the classroom.

Manufacturing Production Technology Academy (MPTA) — MPTA specializes in training students with hands-on mastery of virtually every aspect of modern-day production and manufacturing. Students will be prepared to enter college and/or careers in manufacturing, engineering and skilled trades. Students will participate in a technologically advanced and specialized performance-based curriculum that will prepare them to successfully compete in tomorrow’s technological society. This is a Connect Ed: The California Center for College and Career Model Program and District-certified academy. This program offers articulated post-secondary credits from California State University, Sacramento.

Sports Careers Academy (SCA) — The Sports Careers Academy offers a unique opportunity to explore a wide-ranging and growing field, including physical therapy, fitness training and athletic training. Students will have hands-on experience treating sports injuries and working with technology usually reserved for college students. Students also learn how to take care of their own health and wellness.
Students graduate from the academy with:
• Personal trainer certification
• CPR/First Aid certification
• Sports performance assessment training
• Knowledge about the care and prevention of athletic injuries
• Hands-on training with athletic trainers and physical therapists
