EXPLORE Energy and Utilities at Elk Grove Unified
Franklin High School
Green Renewable Energy Engineering Network (GREEN) Academy
The GREEN Academy is an innovative four-year course of study that allows students to explore renewable sources of energy through engineering and core academic courses. Laguna Creek High School
Green Energy Technology Academy (GETA)
The LCHS Green Energy Tech Academy (GETA) is a four-year high school program dedicated to preparing students to enter two-or four-year colleges, begin a technical training program or head directly into the work force. GETA teaches the concepts of energy extraction, conversion and transmission processes through complex, hands-on, project-based work.
THE GETA FAMILY – GETA students learn and excel together. Whether it is investigating energy conversions at a behind-the-scenes tour of Six Flags theme park, physically supporting each other in team-building activities at the Ropes Course or collaborating on their core academic course assignments, academy students study together in a family-like atmosphere. GETA teachers follow this same team approach when collaborating on cross-curricular lessons to show students connections while monitoring student development both inside and outside the classroom.
