Elk Grove Civic Summer is a two-week course about local government and issues facing the Elk Grove community! Civic Summer aims to provide participants with valuable work experience and networking opportunities for future careers. Savvy students may also secure letters of recommendations and earn summer school credits that will help in his/her future college and career plans!
Students enrolled in the academies and/or pathways focused on the following industries are encouraged to apply:
- Automotive
- Arts, Media and Entertainment (Broadcasting / Graphic Arts / Marketing)
- Building Trades
- Business
- Culinary
- Engineering
- Entrepreneurship
- Public Service (Fire / Law)

Participating students will also complete a three-week internship with one of the following local public agencies (contingent on updated Sacramento County Public Health Order):
- Sacramento Fire Department
- City of Elk Grove – Public Affairs
- City of Elk Grove – Public Works
- City of Elk Grove – Police Department
- EGUSD – Maintenance & Operations
- EGUSD – Communications
- Paratransit
- Cosumnes Services District (CSD)
