…OPTIC Timeline for Academy/Pathway certifications / recognitions:
September 30, 2018 – November 24 2018:
May 30-November 24, 2018 – You and your team will have the opportunity to participate in professional development and planning time as well as work with a coach from the College and Career Options Department to develop a plan and implement your action items.
- September 30, 2018 – self-assessments completed
- November 24, 2018 – Reflection on past action plan and develop a new plan for 2018-2019
- September 30, 2018 – November 24, 2018 (Evidence Uploading)
October 1-December 14, 2018 – Those meeting the criteria for Level 3 or 4 will meet with a designated team for a site visit to review self-assessment, evidence and tour the academy/pathway.
Week of January 14, 2019 – Academies/pathways that meet the criteria listed above will be notified if they will be recognized by the EGUSD Board and/or recommended for certification
February 19, 2019 School Board meeting – Academies/pathways will be presented to the Board for recognition or certification.
LEVEL 3
Gold – Earning 77 – 86 points verified through evidence and site visit
- Self-evaluation falls predominantly in the “Meeting and Advancing” and “Excelling and Sustaining” performance level range of the OPTIC rubric.
- OPTIC’s Self-Assessment is updated annually and demonstrates use of action plans to identify school-year goals and actions taken to meet goals.
- Evidence is uploaded to OPTIC to support self-evaluation
- Sequence of three district-approved pathway courses are running
- Academy/Pathway quality is validated by a team through evidence evaluation and a site visit
- Site visit team to include CTE and core teachers, a minimum of 2 business partners, 2 students from each grade level, vice principal, counselor and one academic core class that is demonstrating integrated curriculum.
LEVEL 4
Platinum – Earning 87 – 96 points verified through evidence and site visit
- Self-evaluation falls predominantly in the “Excelling and Sustaining” performance level range of the OPTIC rubric
- OPTIC’s Self-Assessment is updated annually and demonstrates use of action plans to identify school-year goals and actions taken to meet goals.
- Evidence is uploaded in OPTIC to support self-evaluation
- Sequence of all three district-approved pathway courses is running. Academy/Pathway quality is validated by a team through evidence evaluation and site visit
