GOOD NEWS!!! The 2018-19 state budget includes ongoing funding for Career Technical Education (CTE) programs, including $150 million via the Career Technical Education Incentive Grant (CTEIG) and $150 million for K-12 schools from the state community colleges’ Strong Workforce Initiative per year.  We are still awaiting more details from the state as to how these resources will be allocated, but we are hopeful this will result in more secure and predictable funding for CTE pathways at levels that will keep our programs sustainable and allow for growth.  Stay tuned for more details.

Proposition 51 facilities grant: CDE has released the second round of the Proposition 51 CTE Facilities grant. In the first round EGUSD received awards that will support the Fire Science Pathway at Valley HS, the Ag Tech Academy at Florin HS and the Green Energy Technology Academy at Laguna Creek HS.  The three applications will bring in approximately $4.5 million to EGUSD to build new CTE facilities.  We are hoping to submit more Prop 51 applications for the current round, which are due October 19, 2018.
