The Alliance for Community Media Western Region Conference & Trade Show Presented Nick Conklin an Award for Video on Promoting Emergency Readiness
Nick Conklin, a STEM Media student from Franklin High School, won a WAVE Award for his first-rate PSA video “Get Prepared – Build a Survival Kit PSA”. The purpose of the video was to promote emergency readiness for the Sacramento County Office of Emergency Services website SacramentoReady.org. Nick’s video previously won first place in Access Sacramento‘s 2nd annual High School Public Service Announcement (PSA) video contest.
The Best in the West “Western Access Video Excellence” (WAVE) awards were presented on March 10, 2017 at the conclusion of the Alliance for Community Media – Western Region Conference in Fresno. He was one of three finalists in the PSA category in the six-state region.
About the WAVE Awards
WAVE (Western Access Video Excellence) is an awards program involved with the Western States Regional Conference and Trade Show for the Alliance for Community Media (ACM). Residents of California, Nevada, Colorado, Hawaii, New Mexico and Arizona can qualify for this contest. Competing in the WAVES award allows this network access to film, TV show or web series, which in return, increases your visibility in exposure.
