We are excited to announce two Animation 2 and two Video Production 2 student from Franklin High School have received awards from the Directing Change Public Service Announcement (PSA) Contest. This contest is hosted by the California Mental Health Services Authority (CalMHSA), funded by the voter-approved Mental Health Services Act (Prop 63).

PSA categories: Suicide Prevention and Ending the Silence.

Animation 2 student Brenda Vang was selected as a state finalist and received a regional Third Place Award for her suicide prevention PSA in the Directing Change PSA contest. Ms. Vang will be introduced to lawmakers at the State Capitol mid May and her worked will be screened at the Crest Theater. Her PSA will also be included on a compilation DVD that will be distributed throughout the state.

Students Samantha Woo, Kaitlyn Foster, and Marisa Cheung also received awards for their PSAs. The full list of awards are as follows:
