Lyrics
Sitting out here on the hood of this truck looking up
At a caramel colored sunset sky
Checking my watch doing the math in my head
Counting back words to when you said goodbye
Well those runway lights are getting brighter
I’m just sitting out here watching airplanes
Take off and fly
Trying to figure out which one you might be on
And why you don’t love me anymore
Right now I’m sitting out here watching airplanes
I would’ve lied could’ve cried should’ve tried harder
Done anything to make you stay
I wonder what you’d do if you looked out your window
Saw me running down the runway just like I was crazy
That fence is too high
So I’m just sitting out here watching airplanes
Take off and fly
Trying to figure out which one you might be on
And why you don’t love me anymore
By now I know you’re thirty thousand feet above me
But a million miles away, a million miles away
By now I know I ought to act like you don’t love me
Yeah I’m just sitting out here watching airplanes
Go by, by, by
I’m just sitting out here watching airplanes
Baby bye, bye, bye

Items We Carry
Poem
I am from spoons that stir, Nesquick and cereal.
I am from the white, middle house with the flag outside.
I am from the large oak tree, the garden we never seem to finish.
I am from Christmas mornings and short height, from Christie and Mike and all the Dunbars.
I am from crime stoppers and freedom fighters.
From don’t touch this and don’t say that.
I am from the homemade crosses with loved one’s names.
I am from South Sac and Italians who came by boat, pizza and gelato.
From Carl who fought 3 wars, started a family, and taught respect.
I am from that shelf upstairs full of memories, the pictures on family, the loved one’s we miss, the one who made me “me”, and the feelings of love no matter how far gone.
