Students in Cathe Petuya’s kindergarten class at Carroll Elementary are taking their voices beyond the classroom via VoiceThread. VoiceThread is a wonderful program that allows you to upload an image (or multiple images) and then start an online discussion.
As my students became knowledgeable on the life cycle of the pumpkin, I wanted a way to take their voices to a live audience,” said Petuya. “VoiceThread was the perfect tool for them to document what they had learned about pumpkins. It was also a great way to start introducing my students to the importance of protecting their online privacy. They now understand why they are using avatars instead of photographs.”
Enjoy!
