Bugs in our diet?!

Bugs in our diet?!

Have you ever eaten a bug? Because I have. My class had the opportunity to try some chili-lime crickets, spicy superworms and chocolate-covered superworms and according to the article Bug Business people need to start to put bugs in their diet but some people don’t like the look and things like that. But what they don’t know is that bugs are nutritious, they require less resources and the rest of the world is eating them. First of all, bugs are very nutritious. For example, in the article it says that insects are packed with protein, vitamins, fiber, and minerals.

The next one is that bugs are easier to take care of than cattle or livestock. The insects are easier to take care of because for one pound of meat u need 2,000 gallons of water but for one pound of insects you need 1 gallon of water. Also they take up less space, and according to the article it says that mealworms are grown in little drawers.

Another one is that the rest of the world is already eating bugs except for North America and Europe. I don’t know why but I think that they are trying to make us eat bugs because one the rest of the world is eating them and that the livestock.
All in all bugs might be nutritious, easier to take care of or the rest of the world is eating it. But some people still might not eat them and I don’t blame them. But they will see the next time they go to a restaurant, there will be some larva in there salad.    IMG_3641 (1)
