An apocalyptic event has occurred altering Earth’s climate.  The moon has been knocked closer to our planet’s orbit by an asteroid causing tidal waves, tsunamis, earthquakes and severe climate change.  Alex Morales and his family live in Manhattan.  His father is in Puerto Rico for his mother’s funeral and Alex’s mom hasn’t returned home from work in Queens.  Subways have flooded.  It is up to seventeen-year-old Alex to protect and provide for his younger sisters, Briana and Julie.  This companion novel to Life As We Knew It tackles survival in a big city.
