Since 2007, the Elk Grove Unified School District has run the highly successful No Excuses – Go to School Attendance Campaign. The campaign is designed to educate and motivate students to attend school consistently so that they learn academic skills and develop a work ethic that will help them in life. Research shows that academic achievement increases with consistent school attendance.
In addition, consistent school attendance is also crucial in obtaining maximum funding for Elk Grove Unified. Now, more than ever, money earned by school districts when students regularly attend school plays an important role in purchasing classroom materials and providing critical academic support programs.
Over the years, we have discovered that both short-term and long-term incentives motivate students, especially at the higher grade levels. We are seeking monthly prizes, monetary and gift card donations for the 2018-2019 school year.
Donating to the No Excuses – Go to School Attendance Campaign is an excellent opportunity for a business to positively impact a wide range of people, including students, parents and school staff. With nearly 64,000 students, Elk Grove Unified is the largest school district in Northern California and the fifth largest in California. Elk Grove Unified covers 320 square miles and serves students in the cities of Sacramento, Elk Grove and Rancho Cordova, as well unincorporated areas of Sacramento County.
Students who attend school on a regular basis learn more and are more successful in life. Students who attend school everyday also develop a good work ethic, producing higher quality employees for you.
