I believe that the arts play an essential role in the development and education of every child.  Every week in the classroom, your child will have the opportunity to create and partake in visual and/or performing art activities including drawing and painting, dancing, interactive music games and singing, and reader’s theatre.

In addition, Sunrise has the Art Docent program which is planned and taught by parent volunteers.  If you are interested in being our art docent this year, please let me know and I will get you all set up.  There are about 8 lessons which involve art appreciation and and art project.  You do not need any expertise or skills in art at all to be our art docent.  There is a binder with information on each artist, art prints, and directions for the art lessons.  Last year, our art docent coordinator offered informational sessions for our volunteers to learn about the program.  I will let you know if and when these sessions become available.  Otherwise, I can train you myself!
