Line – the path of a point moving through space

Shape / Form – Shape implies the spatial form and is two-dimensional. Form has depth, length, and width that resides in space; known as three-dimensional.

Color – comes from the three primaries and black and white. Each has three properties: hue, value, and intensity.

Value – refers to relative lightness and darkness; perceived in terms of of varying levels of contrast.

Texture – refers to the tactile qualities of a surface or the visual representation of a surface qualities.

Space / Perspective – refers to the area in which art is organized. Perspective is representing a volume of space or a 3-dimensional object on a flat surface.

    I am a teacher in BC, Canada and I was wondering if I could maybe use the image of the spiral stairs as an image in my classroom next year?

    1. Hello! You may certainly use the image as you wish. It isn’t exactly my own picture, as well as the other pictures I used for the Elements of Art blog post. It was a school assignment where we had to implement photo examples (from the internet) of the elements into the post.
      I appreciate you asking though!
