Bus Pass Application
Bus Pass Application Process
Bus pass applications and payments will be processed through MySchoolBucks. Payments will not be taken over the phone.
Click the MySchoolBucks link to complete your bus pass application. After completing the bus pass application and selecting “purchase”, you will be given the ability to check out as a guest or use an existing MSB account. General fees for various types of service can be found on the bus pass application.
After making your selection, you will be prompted to review, and then confirm your order. When confirming your order, you will be prompted to enter your first and last name and your e-mail address. Shortly after confirming your order, you will be sent an order confirmation via e-mail. The confirmation indicates that the bus pass application has been submitted.
Once submitted, your bus pass application will be put into a queue for review and processing by the EGUSD Department of Transportation. Fees, if required, will be calculated based on service needs of each student with consideration for any applicable fee waivers. If a fee is required, you will be invoiced by e-mail for the amount owed. After receiving the invoice, you will be able to use the MySchoolBucks secure payment portal to process your payment.

Bus Pass Refunds
A pro-rated refund for returned bus passes will be subject to a $15.00 service charge. All refunds will be processed by the Elk Grove Unified School District accounting department, pending approval by the Director of Transportation. Refunds only will be paid out by a check to be received by mail. No refunds will be made for punch cards.
Punch Cards for Infrequent Riders
Punch Cards are available for service-eligible students who may only need transportation sporadically or on a short-term basis. For $40, a punch card can be purchased that gives a student the ability to have 20 one-way bus rides. Punch Cards work like a bus pass in that they can be scanned when a student enters and exists a bus. The main difference between a punch card and an actual bus pass is that the driver will punch out a hole in the card each time a student rides the bus. When all 20 rides are exhausted, the punch card then becomes void. Punch cards are non-refundable and are only valid for the current school year.
Alternate Bus Stops for Daycare
EGUSD may allow for alternate bus stops for students in Kindergarten thru 6th grade. Each request is processed on a case-by-case basis. In any case, written permission will be needed to accommodate a request. Alternate bus stops for daycare are not available for middle school and high school students.
Requests for alternate bus stops must contain the following information.
- The name of the individual providing care; name of business, if applicable.
- The phone number of the contact person that will be providing care.
- The address in which the daycare/supervision will be located at.
- Your explicit written permission with any applicable details
An Alternate Bus Stop request is a supplement to a student’s bus pass application. Please make sure to fill out a bus pass application or your request will not be processed. Please e-mail your request containing the preceding required information to firstname.lastname@example.org.
