Sunrise Unity Carnival

Join us this Friday, October 3 for the Sunrise Unity Carnival!

4:00-7:30pm at Sunrise Elementary

Food, Games, Activities, Raffle, and NEW for 2014… a Silent Auction!

Admission is free.  Food, game/activities wristbands and raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the carnival.

Parent Volunteers Needed for Unity Carnival

The annual Unity Carnival is on Friday, Oct 3.  For those of you who are not familiar with the Carnival, it is an event that the PFO runs, that provides many fun activities and is a major fundraiser for the school.  Some of the activities are free and some require a paid wristband.  A flyer was sent home approximately two weeks ago about this and you can find further information on the Sunrise PFO Website at www.sunrisepfo.org.

Volunteers are always needed for this event in a wide range of activities.  In fact, the event cannot happen without the help of many parent volunteers.  If you can, please sign up to volunteer!   We are in great NEED of parent volunteers.

Most of the volunteer time slots are for only one-hour.  If you can help out and sign up for a slot, please do so.  You are also welcomed to sign up for more than one slot.  Your time and energy are GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Unity Carnival tickets are now available online at www.sunrisepfo.org!

Click on the Unity Carnival Tickets tab and add items like raffle tickets, activities and games wristbands, and meal deals to your cart.

Pay using your credit or debit card on PayPal! Don’t forget to put your child’s name, grade, track, and teacher’s name in the comments section before you pay.

Tickets for A, B, & D Tracks will go home Wednesday, October 1. C Track can pick-up their tickets at will call on Friday, October 3 at the carnival.

Pre-sale orders via the website will close at 11:59 pm on Friday, September 26. Thank you for your support and we’ll see you at the carnival!

Join us for the first ever Sunrise Elementary KickIt Games Field Day!

Wednesday, May 21 (Grades 2nd, 3rd, 6th, and AM Kindergarten) and Thursday May 22 (Grades 1st, 4th, 5th, and PM Kindergarten)

See the schedule for specific times.  Feel free to come as a spectator or better yet, a parent volunteer!  We need at least 5 parents per grade level to help us out.  Please email [email protected] if you’d like to volunteer.

Reminder – KickIt Games cash sponsorships due tomorrow

Good Evening Sunrise Students & Parents:

The Fundraising stage of the KickIt Games ends at midnight tonight.  Remember, you will need to turn in all of your cash sponsorships tomorrow (Wednesday).

Please find below instructions for turning in your cash sponsorships:

Step 1:  Enter all of your cash sponsorships into your student account.  First, be sure your sponsor is added into your “Contacts”.  Then you can enter the sponsorships by clicking on “My Sponsors” and then the “New Cash Sponsorship” button.

Step 2:  Once you have entered all of the cash sponsorships, go to “My Sponsors” and click on the “Print Cash Sponsorship Summary” button to print your summary.

Step 3:  Review the Cash Sponsorship Summary, making sure that all of the cash amounts are correct

Step 4:  If there are any changes you need to make to the sponsorships, click on “My Sponsors”, select the Sponsor record you would like to change, and then click on the “Edit Cash Sponsorship” button.

Step 5:  Once the Cash Sponsorship Summary matches the amount of all of your cash sponsorships, place both your cash and the Cash Sponsorship Summary into the Cash Collection Envelope you received from your teacher at the beginning of the fundraiser.  (NOTE:  If you cannot find the Cash Collection Envelope don’t worry, just place the cash and report in any envelope that is secure. Be sure to add your name, class, and grade to the envelope.)

Step 6:  Bring your cash sponsorships into your teacher.

That’s it – you’re done!   Coming up next is the Field Day so be ready to do your very best for your class!

KickIt Games Update

Good Morning, Sunrise Students, Teachers, and Parents!

Welcome to Day 9 of the KickIt Games!  There are just 5 more days to go to reach our fundraising goal of $10,000.  With $6,445 raised, we are 64% of the way to our goal!  With just 112 students raising this much, imagine if 200 more students raised just $10 each – that equals $2,000 more!

We hope you all enjoyed our 1st Get Excited Event!  Get ready for our 2nd giant cup stacker game!  The student who raises the most for their class between Wednesday 5/7 and the end of the fundraiser will get to compete in our second event!  Remember, each Get Excited player receives a prize and earns game points for their classroom!

Guess who else gets to play with the cup stackers???  Teachers!  That’s right – at the end of the fundraiser, the teacher of the class that raises the most in each grade will race against the clock to build a structure with the giant cup stackers!  Seven teachers will earn gift card points for their class based on what they build!  You can help your class by raising funds and giving your teacher a chance at competing in this exciting Minute to Win It event!

Reminder:  Every point counts for your class!  Don’t risk falling too far behind – be sure to send out your emails and texts seeking your sponsors today!

Scholastic Book Fair Coming Soon!

Scholastic Book Fair

Scholastic Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school from December 2 – 6, 2013, and each class will have a preview of the Fair on their library day.  It’s a great opportunity for students to find books that really interest them. We know kids read more books when they get to choose their own. The more kids read, the more their reading skills improve.

 

We’re  inviting you to be a part of our Book Fair Family Event. It will take place Thursday, December 5th from 4-7 pm. You can shop for books for your entire family! If for some reason you can’t make it or you want to continue shopping from an expanded selection, you can now visit the Fair online – starting November 17 – December 27th http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/sunrisees.

The online Fair:
• Gives you the opportunity to purchase books from the online Classroom Wish List Teachers have created, which will help refresh our classroom libraries and give students access to a variety of new books. To view a Classroom Wish List, select the “Classroom Wish Lists” tab on the online Book Fair site—then look for your teacher’s name under the grade listing on the left.
• Is available for an extended time and all orders ship FREE to school
• Provides a chance for you and your child to create and send wish lists to invite friends and family to participate in the Book Fair
• Offers an expanded book selection for all ages—from preschool to adult.
