Scholastic Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school from December 2 – 6, 2013, and each class will have a preview of the Fair on their library day.  It’s a great opportunity for students to find books that really interest them. We know kids read more books when they get to choose their own. The more kids read, the more their reading skills improve.


We’re  inviting you to be a part of our Book Fair Family Event. It will take place Thursday, December 5th from 4-7 pm. You can shop for books for your entire family! If for some reason you can’t make it or you want to continue shopping from an expanded selection, you can now visit the Fair online – starting November 17 – December 27th

The online Fair:
• Gives you the opportunity to purchase books from the online Classroom Wish List Teachers have created, which will help refresh our classroom libraries and give students access to a variety of new books. To view a Classroom Wish List, select the “Classroom Wish Lists” tab on the online Book Fair site—then look for your teacher’s name under the grade listing on the left.
• Is available for an extended time and all orders ship FREE to school
• Provides a chance for you and your child to create and send wish lists to invite friends and family to participate in the Book Fair
• Offers an expanded book selection for all ages—from preschool to adult.

All in-school and online Book Fair purchases benefit our school. Thanks for helping get more kids reading, kids reading more. See you at the Book Fair!

PFO SaveAround Coupon Book Fundraiser Ends TOMORROW!

Today is the last day to sell SaveAround Coupon Books to support Sunrise Elementary! If you did not sell any books, please return the sample book to school.  If you sold one or more books, please keep the sample book and return the money in the order envelope to the school.  Orders are due tomorrow, Friday, August 30.  Orders will be filled and sent home with students by Friday, September 13th.  If you have a large order, PFO will contact you directly to coordinate delivery of your books.  Questions?  Email [email protected].  Thank you for your support!

PFO SaveAround Coupon Book Fundraiser

Support Sunrise Elementary by participating in the annual PFO SaveAround Coupon Book Fundraiser!

Each books costs $20, with 50% profit coming directly back to the school.  For every 5 books sold, you get one FREE!  Order envelopes and a sample book were sent home with each Sunrise Spartan student Monday, August 19. If you choose not to participate in this fundraiser, please return the sample book to school.  If you sell one or more books, please keep the sample book and return the money in the order envelope to the school.  Orders are due Friday, August 30.  Additional purchased books will be sent home in early September.  Questions?  Email [email protected].  Thank you for your support!

2013 Sunrise Unity Carnival

Friday, October 11

The date is set!! Join us this summer to plan and prepare for the annual Sunrise Unity Picnic and Carnival. We are looking for parent leaders and volunteers to support this amazing family event. Committees include food, raffle, tickets, games, vendors, publicity, coordinating parent volunteers, and working with the local high school student volunteers.

Love to lead? We are also looking for an enthusiastic parent to work with our PFO President to coordinate and oversee the big event.

The Sunrise PFO would like to send out a huge THANK YOU to all our Jog-A-Thon parent volunteers!  We appreciate your help in making this such a great event.  We couldn’t do it without you!

Sunrise Jog-A-Thon Friday, May 3

The annual Sunrise Elementary Jog-a-thon will be held this Friday, May 3.  ALL students will participate and run, whether or not they choose to collect pledges.  Music & cheers will accompany students as they run with classmates (and some teachers!) for twenty minutes. Water will be provided during the race, and otter pops afterwards. Students should wear comfortable shoes and loose fitting clothes for the event. The run will be organized by grade level and prizes will be awarded in all grade levels for students running the most laps!

Please help your child find sponsors and return the Sponsor Sheet to their teacher by tomorrow, Wednesday, May 1 even if no sponsors have been secured.  We need these sheets to tally the number of laps your child runs! After the race, a copy of the Sponsor Sheet with your child’s lap total will be sent home so that students can collect pledges. All pledges are tax deductible and due back to school on Friday, May 10.

Want to help?  Volunteers are needed between 8am and noon the day of the Jog-a-thon. If you are able to help at all that day, please contact us at [email protected].

Join us for a fundraiser at Rubio’s to support our school.

Zinfandel Dr. in Rancho Cordova 

Dine at Rubio’s or take dinner to go, and Rubio’s will donate 20% of your transaction to our school.
You must present the flyer to receive credit!
Print it out, give one to a friend or neighbor and enjoy dinner out.
