September 4, 2020:

Following recent changes from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Elk Grove Unified School District (EGUSD) Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) is expanding access to free meals to all children 18 years and younger, regardless of school enrollment. Beginning with meal service on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, meals will be provided to all children that participate in the curb-side or mobile meal service at no cost. This will remain in effect during Distance Learning.

Validation received since the start of the 20-21 school year will continue to be honored. To receive a validation form, parents/guardians must either bring the child on the initial visit or provide documentation of said child (i.e. school record or childcare documentation). Proof must include the child’s name. Children do not need to be present as long as parents/guardians have received the proper validation.

The current curbside meal service schedule remains the same:

These changes do not impact the meal services offered at Cosumnes River ES (on Tuesdays), Pleasant Grove ES (on Wednesdays) or C.W. Dillard ES (on Thursdays) for all students.

  • For the week initiating on Monday, September 7th (Labor Day Holiday), there will be no meal service on that Monday. Meal service will recommence on Tuesday, September 8th.

From September 8th onward, EGUSD Food & Nutrition Services will provide the following new Curb-Side Meal service:

  • Two (2) pick up days a week, Tuesdays and Fridays
    • Tuesdays, families will receive breakfast and lunch for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
    • Fridays, families will receive meals for Friday and Monday
  • Two (2) service windows where families will be able to pick up meals
    • Early Service Window: 6:45 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
    • Midday Service Window: 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Families can pick up meals at their school of preference, from any of the following sites listed, but are only eligible to pick up meals at one location, during one service window.  All EGUSD families are eligible to participate.  All students aged 18 years and younger are now eligible to pick up meals at no cost.
