Welcome back, Huskies!
By sheldonhlib
Welcome back to the 2011-2012 school year. I am thrilled that the library is still open for all students and staff once again. The library has many activities planned this school year and we are eager to get started! Here’s a couple of items to know before we get the library ball rolling!
1. If you still have textbooks from last year, they need to be turned in ASAP! You can come before or after school or during your lunch to drop them off. Overdue notices will be mailed home the 2nd week of school.
2. Join the Library Advisory Committee! This is a great way to get involved and to make sure our library has an active voice in our school and district community. The focus of this group is fundraising and, of course, BOOKS! We also plan various parties and movie nights throughout the school year.
3. Have you become a fan of the Sheldon Library on Facebook, yet? What are you waiting for? Do it today! This is a great way to stay informed about what’s going on in your school library.
4. Need a good book recommendation but Ms. Ledford is always busy and you don’t get a chance to ask her? Check out her recommendations at Library Thing. Click HERE to view the books or simply click the tab on the right side of this website. All of these books are here in the Sheldon Library.
5. Need extra help with homework? How about a quiet place to get work done before going home? The Library is open until 4:30 on Mondays and Wednesdays. Come and take advantage of a quiet, comfortable place to get your homework done. This will start on August 22nd.
OK, that’s it for now. Subscribe to this website so you can stay informed and notified when changes are made. See you all on August 15th!
ATTENTION SENIORS!
By sheldonhlib
It’s hard to believe its already time to start gathering up books belonging to seniors. So if you are getting ready to graduate, please make sure you return ALL LIBRARY BOOKS AND TEXTBOOKS to the library by May 13th. Failure to do so will mean you cannot participate in mandatory graduation activities. Please come and see me if you are unsure about what is on your library record. If you’ve lost a textbook, there is still time for you to purchase a replacement copy at http://amazon.com. Otherwise, you will be responsible for the entire cost of the lost book. Please stop by the library for details.
Take the Library Survey! The librarian is curious to know what you think about our library.
