First of all, I want to THANK all students, teachers, and parents who stood up and voiced their concern for the possible library closure. Your voices were heard loud and clear and we are happy to announce that the library will remain open for the upcoming school year!! However, we did lose our library technician which means that we will have to cut back our library services. Below you will find new library hours including times when the computer lab will be available.
The library will now open at 7:30 and close at 3:15 daily.
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays the library will be open for studying and book checkouts. THE COMPUTER LAB WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE.
Tuesdays and Thursdays the computer lab will be open for typing, research, and printing. THERE WILL BE NO BOOK CHECKOUTS OR TABLES AVAILABLE FOR STUDYING.
We will still observe quiet study time on Wednesday mornings from 7:30- 9:00. The computer lab will then open at 9:00 when quiet study is over.
I am looking forward to a great year despite the changes to our library services. I hope you all had a great and relaxing summer!

It’s that time of year again where students gear up for the annual STAR testing. To help you prepare, here are a list of released questions. This is a huge THANK YOU for all of those that supported the Day of Action. Our Library Advisory Committee did a fantastic job making signs and especially making their voices heard. Thank you to all of the students and teachers that rallied in support of stopping budget cuts to our district.

We’d like to invite all students to join the ASB students and our Library Advisory Committee to march along Kingsbridge Drive on March 4th starting at 7:15 to raise awareness of the ongoing budget cuts to education. This is a student-led organization but family and friends are invited to participate as well. We hope to get as many people involved as possible. Let’s make sure our state legislature knows that budget cuts hurt education and our future. Let’s keep budget cuts away from our schools!

Now that the textbook rush is over, make sure to stop by the library and see what new books we have for you to read. And be sure to check out Ms. Ledford’s current favorite books:
1. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
2. Unwind by Neal Shusterman
3. Deadline by Chris Crutcher
4. Shift by Jennifer Bradbury
And just some quick reminders– the library is getting overcrowded at lunch times. All students visiting the library must be studying or reading quietly. Socializing needs to be done outside the library. Ms. Ledford will ask you to leave if you aren’t reading or studying QUIETLY!!
