Curb-side meal distribution program will end on March 12th
ELK GROVE, Calif. – March 9, 2021 – The current curb-side meal distribution program will end on March 12th due to the changes necessary with the start of in-person concurrent learning model. Curb-side meal distribution will begin again on Monday, March 22nd at the sites listed below. Meals will continue to be free to any child 18 years and younger with valid verification.
For students participating in in-person instruction, meals may be picked up, by the student, at the end of instruction on their designated cohort days. Students will be provided breakfast and lunch for the day they are on campus, as well as the days they are in distance learning. Meals are to be taken home for consumption off campus. Families may choose to pick up meals from the curb-side distribution on Mondays (see below) instead of having the student collect meals at the end of instruction. Please remember, students are only allowed 1 meal service (breakfast & lunch) per day – families cannot collect meals at school and through curb-side for the same student.
For students who remain in a distance learning scenario, families may pick up meals from a convenient curb-side location. Curb-side meal service will transition to Monday distribution on March 22nd with service times at 6:45 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Families will receive seven days’ worth of food, breakfasts and lunches, during curb-side distribution. We encourage families picking up meals curb-side to pre-order meals online at http://egusdschoolmeals.com.
