WHAT: Being a new student and starting a new grade level at a new school can be intimidating for anyone. To help new or prospective students make a seamless and smooth transition to a new school, Laguna Creek High School will hold its 3rd Bi-Annual Shadow Day from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2018. Students visiting the Laguna Creek campus will be paired with a current 11th or 12th grade student as a “shadow buddy” who will accompany them to classes and lunch. “Shadow Day” offers prospective, incoming students an inside look at Cardinal culture, academics and school activities including clubs, activities and sports as well as the many visual and performing arts programs like the marching, concert and jazz bands. Laguna Creek is the only high school in the Elk Grove Unified School District that offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme. Visitors may also shadow five Career Connected Learning programs offered at LCHS: Cybersecurity, Fashion Design and Merchandising, Green Energy Technology Academy, Manufacturing Production Technology Academy and Sports Careers Academy.

WHO: Incoming Laguna Creek High School freshman and other perspective students.

WHY: Laguna Creek High School is Making Great Things Possible by providing opportunities to students to ensure they have a successful experience from day one. Events like “Shadow Day” provide future Cardinal students the opportunity to learn about LCHS programs that may enable its students to complete high school as college and career ready graduates.
