WHAT: Samuel Kennedy Elementary will honor military veterans with a celebration to say, “Thank you for your service.” Taking place on Thursday, November 9, 2017, military veterans from across the Greater Sacramento region will convene on campus prior to the presenting of the colors by Valley High School’s Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) students. James Rutter Middle School’s choir will sing “Fifty Stars,” “Rally Around the Flag” and “Yankee Doodle.” Samuel Kennedy Elementary fourth, fifth and sixth grade students will sing “God Bless the USA,” “Heroes Song” and “Thank You, Soldiers.” In coordination with the JROTC students, the young students will also do the cadence. Honoring our country’s military veterans teaches children about important values and offers a hands-on history lesson for student attendees and participants.

WHERE: Samuel Kennedy Elementary, 7037 Briggs Drive, Sacramento, CA 95828 (please check-in at front office).
