Students Seek Cinderella to Judge Designs and Interior
WHAT: Instead of carving pumpkins, Florin High School students will decorate pumpkin race cars for the school’s inaugural Pumpkin Derby. The friendly-competition event will commence on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. sharp. The 30 student/faculty teams will compete against each other using physics and engineering to construct a derby car that cannot exceed 20 pounds. The Ag-Tech Academy will drill holes and secure the axles and wheels while the Project Lead the Way-Engineering program will provide the components needed to build the “cars.” Additionally, the Culinary program will serve pumpkin bread to guests during the fun-filled, friendly competition.
