Students Receive Honors for “The Heart of Robin Hood” Production
ELK GROVE, Calif. – October 10, 2017 – Sheldon High School THEATREworks program proudly walked away with two 2017 Youth Elly Awards at the September 10, 2017 reception for the set and lighting design of The Heart of Robin Hood school production. Organized by the Sacramento Area Regional Theatre Alliance (SARTA), the Youth Elly Awards aims to honor outstanding achievements of community theaters and artists in the Sacramento Area. Sheldon High School Theatre Program Director, Craig Howard, remarked, “Our acting and technical students and staff did amazing work to earn these recognitions. I am honored and blessed to work with a team who brings such passion and talent to a community that recognizes creativity, artistry and joy!”
The school also received a total of eight additional Youth Elly Award nominations for its production of The Heart of Robin Hood and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Elly Awards are named for the late Eleanor McClatchy, who was a devoted patron of the local arts.
