Memory Books

Thanks in major part to Mrs. Engel-Larot (Anika’s Mom) there will be a lovely Kindergarten Memory book for every student at the end of the school year. A few families have not yet provided a donation ($7.00) to cover the cost of materials. I have not sent a reminder in quite a while. Please send your donations this week.

We are in need of a parent who can take a special photo of each student to include in the Memory Books. I have the props and camera, I just need a helper. Let me know if it will be you!

URGENT NOTICE

Dear Kindergarten Families,

I am so very sorry to announce that I am postponing our 100th Day Celebration.  I have only received 10 of the 24 donations needed for our party.  The donations were due by today so I could prepare our materials in advance.  I cannot possibly do preparations during our party.  If you do not remember what item was requested, please check your child’s backpack for the original note.  If you don’t find it, I can look on my master list for you.  If you are unable to provide that item, please let me know so I can find a suitable substitute.  Our schedule is very full so we will try again with our party on Wednesday, March 11th.  Classroom helpers will be most welcome.

OTHER IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
Wednesday Feb 25th Permission slips and $5.oo donation are due.  Half the class is ready to go.  Please let me know if your child will NOT be going.  I will have to cancel the trip if I do not receive completed permission slips from EVERY student.  LATE ITEMS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Thursday Feb 26th is Picture Day
Thursday Feb 26th Homework and pages and folder are due
Friday Feb 27th Field Trip to Franklin High School for Peter Pan.  We leave at 9:15 AM and return at 11:20 AM.

Building Memories

I have been collecting student work all year long to put into a very special Kindergarten Memory Book as a keepsake for you and your child.  It’s time to start putting these items into a binder, but I need your help in two ways.  First, please donate $7.00 so I can purchase the materials that are needed to create these books.  Also, let me know if you are willing to assist in actually filling the books for our class.

Speaking of Donations…

iPhoneIf you are purchasing new cellphones, please consider donating your old phones to our class.  I can use any kind of old smartphone, iPod or iPod Touch to set up learning centers in our room.  Of course, an old iPad or KindleFire would be over the top wonderful to have. We won’t mind a cracked screen either!

If you have ever been curious about other kinds of donations to make our classroom a center of 21st Century Learning, please consider passing along an Apple Store gift card.  I am setting aside money to purchase another iPad for the classroom.  It is my goal to provide daily access to technology for every one of my students. Your support would be major boost towards achieving it!
