1. Students must listen and follow directions given by any adult staff.
2. When the bell rings, students must freeze (hands on thighs), drop down from play equipment and hold any sports equipment. When the whistle is blown, students unfreeze, walk to their lines and line up in orderly fashion, holding sports equipment appropriately.
3. Students need to stay within the boundaries for recess (within the painted red lines).
4. Students need a hall pass to cross over the boundary lines. Hall passes can be obtained by yard duty person.
5. Students are to use the bathrooms in the 3rd/4th pod and/or U-building bathrooms during recesses. (The drinking fountain is available for use)
6. Students need to stay away from the 3rd/4th classrooms. (Stay on the blacktop side of the trees)
7. No food is permitted outside at recess. Teachers can provide time inside for a snack in the classroom. Food being eaten outside should be discarded or returned to the teacher.
8. Students need to be active on the playground. Walking around in large groups is not permitted.
9. Play Equipment: Grades 1-3 on small equipment, Grades 4-6 use bigger equipment.
10. Students must use playground equipment appropriately (no standing on top of the monkey bars, the bark stays on the ground, etc.)
11. Soccer, tag, and tackle football are off limits for recess (too many injuries).
