Ancient Egypt
Social Studies Project
Due:  Tuesday, January 3, 2012

Choose one of the following projects:  (30 points)

  1.  Construct a pyramid from Ancient Egypt.  Use pictures from the internet and book to help make it accurate.  (May not be made of sugar cubes).
  2. Make a diorama of the inside of a pyramid.  Remember the details the Egyptians used to hide the tomb such as a maze and murals on the walls.  Be sure to include all the riches that were buried with the pharaohs.
  3. Make a replica of the Rosetta Stone.
  4. Create a tomb with a mummy inside.  Use a shoebox and decorate the inside walls of the box with colorful scenes depicting Egyptian life.
  5. Create an artifact.  Do some research in books and/or the internet to construct an artifact that looks authentic, such as jewelry, tools, clothes, and etc.
  1. Draw a map of ancient Egypt on a 12 x 18 piece of construction paper or on a poster board.  Include all the ancient cities, pyramids, and natural resources.  Please make sure you include a title (“Ancient Egypt”), a legend/key (which explains what the symbols on the map represent), and a compass rose (which is the directional indicator that shows which way is north, south, east, and west on a map).
