This realistic fiction is about Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay, who have set up camp 1,100 feet from the top of the world. Their oxygen supply is running low, which means they have less than five hours to climb to the top and return to camp. Every breath brings them closer to their goal, but they’re still on the watch for avalanches, altitude sickness, crumbling cliffs of rock and ice, and sudden windstorms. Will these brave mountaineers make it to the top of the world?
