Tdap Communications for 6th Grade Families
April 24, 2012 | Leave a Comment
Dear Parent/Guardian,
California law requires that all incoming 7th graders get a whooping cough booster shot, called Tdap, before entering school. Record of the Tdap vaccine and all other vaccines required for school entry must be provided to the child’s school at registration. Currently enrolled Elk Grove Unified students can turn in the proof that they received their Tdap immunization at their elementary school. If your child cannot have immunizations for medical reasons, you must provide a signed letter from your doctor.
For students who do not have health insurance, are Medi-CAL eligible or are Alaskan Native/American Indian, EGUSD is offering two free immunization clinics. These clinics will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 26 at Joseph Kerr Middle School at 8865 Elk Grove Blvd and on May 2nd at Samuel Jackman Middle School at 7925 Kentwall Drive. A parent/guardian must accompany the child. Please bring your child’s yellow Immunization Card or “Out of Compliance” letter from their school. No appointment is needed.
If you have any questions about these clinics, please contact Student Support and Health Services at 686-7568.
