Welcome Back to School!

Welcome to fourth grade!  My name is Ms. Cheung and I am excited to be your teacher for the 2009-2010 school year.  As we  jump into a new year, we will be learning many new concepts in math, expanding our reading and writing skills, and learning about the world around us through Social Studies and Science.

This is a critical year for learning organizational skills, which the students will need for the rest of their lives.

Back-to-School Night will be this Thursday, August 27, 2009 from 6-7 pm.  I hope to see the students and meet parents.

Parents, students, family, and friends…please feel free to use this site as a means to learn what  is happening  in our classroom.  Feel free to post a comment if you wish!

I am looking forward to an exciting year of learning and growing!

THIS WEEK…

We are reading a story about the first African-American woman astronaut, Mae Jemison.  At the same time, we are keeping a watchful eye on Jose Hernandez, the first Mexican-American astronaut from the Stockton area, who is scheduled to take off for space this week.  To find out more about Hernandez, go to http://www.jsc.nasa.gov/Bios/htmlbios/hernandez-jm.html

  1. Hi fourth graders! I had no idea that the first Mexican-American we’ll be taking off soon! I think it is cool that you are doing the blog! Please leave a comment on my fifth grade class blog: barrettb.edublogs.org! 5A student in Iowa,

P.S, What state do you live in?
P.S.S, Heres a question for your class: (try not to use a calculater!) what is 5-4+3x2x3-15?
