Perimeter
Jan 10th
Today we talked about perimeter in class. Some of us were confused with area, and we discussed that perimeter is the measurement around the *outside* of a shape. We talked about how to add up the sides to find perimeter. I hope you can show your children how you might use perimeter at home in your building projects. Here is a Funbrain game to practice perimeter.

Tessellations
Jan 6th
Today we were studying congruent figures. These are figures that have the same size and same shape. We used congruent shapes to make tessellation artwork – which is a pattern that is repeated and can cover a plane area without gaps or overlaps. We also looked at some on the Internet so I have placed links here!
