As most of you know, I have been out taking care of my three year old son who is ill.  I will be out again Monday and possibly Tuesday.  Basically, he is on the verge of a blood transfusion and we are monitoring him daily.  Depending on the lab results, I may return Tuesday.

Technology!

Technology has entered the building!  I am pleased to let you know that we have a working projector and document camera!  We are no longer working off of the overhead.  This is a wonderful teaching and learning tool!  Starting next week, I will use powerpoint presentations to enhance our learning.  I will look into a sound system for the powerpoints, stories on cds and a possible dvd/vcr that can be hooked to the projector.  We are moving closer to having a classroom in the 21st century!  This is very exciting!

Donations

We are in need of lunch bunch treats.  Packaged treats like fruit by the foot, fruit snacks, Gushers, Handi Snacks and cookies work great!  We also need licorice, we use it weekly for fun mental math games, prizes on assignments and lunch bunch.  We are also in need of raffle prizes.  Every Friday we raffle off about 3-5 big items, 10 pencils/erasers and about 20 bite size candies.  We are in need of the big items.  Kids love white board markers, erasers, pencil pouches, markers, rulers, small toys, and highlighters.  Thank you to all who have donated already!

Spelling Lists

The spelling lists are now located in the Spelling Homework section/page.  I have attached all of the lists for Unit 4 which we will start on Monday, January 23rd.
