Elementary School

In a student’s school life, elementary school would be the most fun and exciting part.  I’ve been through a lot in elementary school and it’s like riding a crazy roller coaster.  I’d like to share the highlights of my whole experience.

Friends

I’ve always been a shy girl and it wasn’t that easy for me to make friends.  I usually find friends in class when the teacher put us in partners or groups.  From grades 1-4, it’s hard to find real friends because you’re still young and there’s a lot of drama.  Through the years as I got older, I got less shy and there was less drama too.  I found my best friends that I know I would stay with forever.  If you’re sad, nervous, or getting hurt, they will make you feel better. 🙂    I like going to school because of them.  Friends are one major part of school because they will help you during hard times.  If you don’t have friends, it could be boring for you at school which will make you not want to go.  Always make new friends and don’t be shy, be confident.  I’ve learned a lot about friends from my past experiences in elementary.

School Studies

The most crucial part of school is to learn.  Everyday at school, I learn something new.  Math, reading, social studies, grammar, and spelling may all sound boring but at least they teach us something we need to know in the future.  It’s so important to know all these things.  I make sure I study everyday and don’t turn down on my studies.  Stay in school and don’t get into trouble because that just affects your learning.  I work hard to get my straight A’s and let me tell you, it’s not that easy.  You have to work really hard.  Turn in your homework each day, don’t turn in assignments late, and pay attention in class.  If I can do it, all of you can do it if you just try.   Luckily, teachers are there everyday just to teach us.  We’re lucky that they are there to help us succeed in life.  I want to thank all the teachers I’ve had because I wouldn’t be promoting to middle school if it weren’t for them.  After six years of school, I’ve realized that your school studies are the number one thing you have to concentrate on.

Last Year of Elementary School

Sixth grade is the last school year in elementary school which means that it’s the last time you will get to have fun in school.  I’ve had a lot of fun this year.  We’ve had a lot of fun projects, field trips, and awesome times.  In Ms. Gaviola’s class, you’ll for sure have an exciting year.  Ms. Gaviola makes me want to come to school because she has her way of making us excited about learning and just being at school.  She has taught me so many things and I want to thank her for that.  My class this year are really awesome too!  I don’t know how or why, but this is the only class that I really liked.  Make sure that in sixth grade, you cherish the moments you have because everything will change once you move on to middle school.

Vacation in the Philippines

When spring break started, I went to the Philippines for a vacation.  My family and I did lots of fun things there.  First of all, we had a family reunion where my mom’s mom reunited with her brothers and sisters.  We sang, danced, and played games.  There were lots of people there which made it more exciting.  Secondly, we went swimming with our family there.  We live in one house and there’s 23 of us altogether.  About half of the 23 are my cousins.  It’s hard to rent vans that can fit 23 people.  Fortunately, we were able to find some.  It’s really hot in the Philippines so it feels fresh when we swim in the cold swimming pools.  Lastly, we go to the mall because the mall has a lot of fun arcades.  My cousins had a lot of fun in the arcade.  My vacation in the Philippines was really fun and I wish I could go back. 

San Francisco Review

Our field trip to the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco didn’t go as well as I thought it would.  I really liked walking around in the museum, but the bus ride was the worst part.  First of all, I didn’t like how three whole classes were stuffed in one bus.  Ms. Gaviola’s class was the last class to board.  In the bus, there were already two whole classes in there!  So, the bus driver had to divide our class to different seats.  In the end, there were three students in each seat which was very uncomfortable.  Worst of all, we were going to have to stay like that for about two hours.  

Next, we arrived at the museum and I was so happy to get out of the bus.  Then we went in and we were in groups with a tour guide.  I loved listening to the stories that the tour guide told us because she was telling them in a really amusing way. After that, we went into a room with a yoga instructor in there.  She taught us yoga moves that were interesting.  

At the end of the field trip, I learned about a lot of new things.  There were good times and bad times of the field trip. I would recommend you to go the Asian Arts Museum because to me, it was a really cool experience.

San Francisco Field Trip

On Friday, February 28, we are having a field trip going to the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco.  I’m really looking forward to it for a lot of reasons.  First of all, it will be fun riding in the bus with all my friends for a few hours.  I like long car rides unless it’s really boring.  Since, we are going to be in there for a long time, we are allowed to bring our electronics.  Secondly, it will be very interesting to learn new things in the museum.  We will be roaming in the museum with our groups to see everything there.  Lastly, it will be fun going to San Francisco because I don’t go there often.  It’s only sometimes my family and I go there.  I can’t wait to have our field trip there tomorrow!

 

Zendaya Coleman VS Ariana Grande

Zendaya and Ariana two famous teenage celebrities from Disney Channel and   zendayaNickelodeon.  They have lots of differences and similarities.  First,  Zendaya is a singer, dancer, and actor.  Ariana is only a singer and an actor.  Zendaya is from Disney Channel, and Ariana is from Nickelodeon.  Both has had their own show aired on T.V.  Zendaya’s show was Shake It Up, but it stopped airing.  Ariana was on Victorious, which has stopped airing also, but now has a new show, Sam and Cat.  Secondly, Ariana has more songs on the radio than Zendaya.  Examples of Ariana’s songs are:  The Way, Right There, etc.  Zendaya has only one song that I’ve heard play on the radio which is, Replay.  Lastly, one other similarity that they both have is having their own sense of style.  Ariana and Zendaya like to dress in their own ways and don’t listen to what other people tell them.  They like to be themselves and not copy other people’s looks.  That is one reason I really like about them.  I would say that I like Zendaya and Ariana equally even if they are very different from each other.

There are lots of things you don’t know about me, so here are seven random facts about me that I’ll share with you:

 

1.  My favorite past time is going to the movies to watch movies with my family and friends.

2.  I like to hang out with my friends a lot which is one of the reasons why I LOVE going to school.

3.  I’m only scared of the dark when I’m by myself.

4.  I laugh easily, even on the littlest jokes.

5.  I’m not much of a fan of sweets such as:  Donuts, chocolate, and cake (I eat these occasionally).

6.  My all time favorite teachers were the ones I had in second, fourth, and sixth grade.

7.  My main talent/hobby is singing.  I don’t really know how good I am at it though…  Music gets me through the day. 🙂

Fun New Year’s Celebration

On December 21, 2013, my family and I threw a New Year’s Party to celebrate the new year.  We did a lot of activities while waiting for the 10 second countdown.  First of all, we waited for all of our guests to come so we could start eating.  There were more people than I expected.  Although the more people, the better.  Next, we ate until we were stuffed.  Many of the visitors brought different types of food so there were so much to choose from!  After that, we started the exchanging gifts (similar to Secret Santa).  The person that I was giving my present to was my brother.  The person that got me and gave me a present was my uncle.  He gave me a really pretty dress.  Then, we just started giving out presents to each other.  My two sisters gave me clothes and money.  My parents got me a 3DS and I was really happy.  Next, we were done with the presents so we sang a little on our karaoke machine.  All of us gathered in the living room and sang really loud.  The time was getting closer to 12:00 so we turned on the T.V. and there was one minute left.  We all waited for the 10 second countdown and it was finally here.  Everyone counted down as loud as they could and when it hit zero, everyone yelled, “Happy New Year!”  Finally, we were all tired and went home.  New Year celebrations with the family are always fun.

Christmas in Philippines

Christmas in the Philippines is celebrated a little differently from other countries.  Christmas is the most important holiday in that country.  One thing they do to celebrate the holiday is go to nine early morning masses.  It goes on through December 16 to December 25 (Christmas day).  In Filipino, these masses before Christmas are called ‘Simbang Gabi’ or ‘Misa de Gallo’.  The reason why Christmas is very important in that country is because the country is full of Christians.  The Philippines isn’t completely different from other countries.  They celebrate some things just like the U.S.A.  They have Christmas trees, cards, and even Santa Claus.  Another tradition they do is make something called ‘parols’. They’re really bright and they have a frame with a lighted star in the middle.  Lastly, they have a feast in the middle of the night before Christmas.  It’s called a Noche Buena.  Christmas is very fun in the Philippines.  As they say in the Philippines, ‘Maligayang Pasko’ or Merry Christmas!

“Frozen”

The next movie that I am planning to watch is the cartoon movie called, Frozen.  I’ve heard a lot about this movie and many people have said that it was really good.  The trailer showed me that it’s full of action, adventure, and comedy.  The first time I watched the trailer, I thought it was really boring.  Then, many of my friends and family gave a good rating of this movie.  My older sister and her son wants to watch it a second time.  The ratings and compliments I’ve heard about this movie made me want to watch it.  I especially love watching funny cartoon movies.  I will probably watch Frozen at the movie theaters with my two older sisters, little sister, older brother, and my nephew.  I can’t wait to watch this movie with my family!
