Greetings Families,

The transition back to school from Winter Break has been smooth.  It is really great to be back with the children.  Students are back in their routines and enjoying learning from our amazing teaching staff.

As you may be aware, all parent volunteers in the Elk Grove Unified School must now be fingerprinted before volunteering in the classroom or attending a school-sponsored field trip.  This is an opportunity to offer another layer of safety  for our beautiful students while they are at school as well as on school-sponsored field trips.  I am attaching the same information that has been sent by the district in the past.

Once fingerprinted, there is a processing time of several weeks before an adult is “cleared” and able to volunteer.  If you plan to volunteer or attend an upcoming field trip, please anticipate this processing time.

There are three main ways to get fingerprinted:

  • At the EGUSD District Office
    • This is free
    • Times and location are in the attachment labeled “Volunteer-Assistance-Letter – Ti-Parents-December-2018”
  • At a UPS Store
    • this will have a $12.00 fee
    • They will require a form that is also attached.  It is called “EGUSD Livescan Form”
  • A Mobile Fingerprinting Unit is coming to Franklin Elementary!!  They will be here on
    • Wednesday, January 23 1:00pm to 3:00pm AND
    • Thursday, January 24 5:00pm – 7:00pm.
    • This will have a $12.00 fee and will require the attached form called “EGUSD Livescan Form”

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
