In collaboration with the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce, the Elk Grove Unified School District Office of College and Career Options developed a 12-Day Work-Ready Workshop “boot-camp” to better prepare EGUSD students for the workforce.

Mentors discuss the importance of confidence during the “job hunting” process, developing an effective cover letter and resume, understanding the lasting impacts of using social media channels (personal and professional usage) as well as the impacts of effective customer service skills.

Student participants also learn the basics of interviewing, professional business attire, financial literacy, creating and maintaining portfolios (digital and paper copies) and also participate in interviews with business partners looking to expand their workforce.

After completing the workshop, do you believe you are more work-ready?
