Parents and Students,
The field trip to the Sacramento County Fair on May 24th has been cancelled. I learned that this off-track field trip is a liability for the school district.
I am sorry for any inconvenience, and I will see you when we are back on track May 29th!
Please email me if you have any questions.
Mr. Mallory

Students did an activity where they had to dip a finger in Crisco (vegetable fat). They then put the one finger with Crisco in ice and another finger without Crisco in ice. Most students were able to keep the finger with Crisco in the ice the longest.
We then followed up the activity by reading about some adaptations animals have in the Arctic. One important adaptation is that animals keep a layer of fat for warmth.

Today, students had to classify and categorize different types of leaves based on their physical properties. Students used their five senses to make determinations about how they would group the leaves. A big thanks to Mrs. Le for sending in the different types of leaves. The gooey Aloe plant was the biggest hit. Check out the pictures below:

Dear Parents,
I have uploaded the new March calendar and a new snack calendar for the month. Click the links at the top of this page if you would like to view or print them out. Students also took home hard copies.
I also update the homework assignments nightly under the ‘Homework’ link at the top of this page. The subjects we are currently working on and the test dates are located under ‘Subjects/Testing’ at the top of this page. I update that section weekly.
Thanks,
Mr. Mallory
