Personal Belongings Distribution

This week, families will be able to retrieve their students’ personal belongings, return textbooks, and library books. We will use the drive-thru method in our main parking lot. Parents and students should remain in their vehicles at all times.  We are distributing by grade level on Tuesday-Thursday from 9 AM to 3 PM.

Here is the schedule for picking up personal items and returning textbooks and library books:

Tuesday, May 19th, 1st& 2nd grades, 9-3 PM
Wednesday, May 20th. 3rd & 4th, 9-3 PM
Thursday, May 21st, 5th & 6th, 9-3 PM

Families with multiple students can retrieve items on the day of the youngest (1st-6th grade student). We are also asking families to place an 8 ½ by 11 sign on the dashboard with student(s) name, grade, and teacher’s name. Drive-thru meals are also distributed from 11:00-1:00. If you are not getting lunch, you may want to retrieve your student’s items from 9-11 or from 1:00-3:00.

On Friday, May 22nd our Kinder families can drop off the kinder packets and retrieve personal items. We are using the drive-thru method on Laguna Park near the kinder classrooms and bus loop for Kinder only. Please see the schedule below for Kinder packet drop off:

12-2   Prevatt/Vicari/King

Community Informational Meetings

Dear Modified Traditional and Traditional Families of Kindergarten students,
On January 16, 2018 a Board Policy was adopted (BP 6117(c) that determined that Elk Grove Unified School District would implement an unbiased process for determining assignment of students to tracks at our year round school sites . Starting next school year 2020/21, we will follow a similar enrollment process at Modified Traditional and Traditional school sites for schedule assignments. This process will begin with Kindergarten registration which opens on January 9, 2020.

Global Handwashing Day – October 15

Not only is the cold and flu season upon us, but Global Handwashing Day is also approaching. Handwashing with soap is an easy, effective, and affordable way to prevent diseases and save lives.

·         Wash your hand with soap before eating, cooking, or feeding others

·         Make handwashing part of your family routine

·         Help children develop good handwashing habits

Has your child had the opportunity to see a wide variety of the future career options that are available to him or her? Did you know that the Elk Grove Unified School District offers many career-themed academies and pathways? Here’s your chance to find answers to these questions!

Students in 4th through 9th grades are invited to attend EXPLORE: Map Your Future, a family-friendly BBQ event to explore career academy and pathway programs (food is available while supplies last). This school year, Map Your Future will take place on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at the Elk Grove Regional Park’s Pavilion Center, 9950 Elk Grove-Florin Road, Elk Grove, CA 95624, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Guests may arrive at any time during the two-hour window.

Also, attendees may reserve a spot on a District school bus if transportation is needed (at least one family member must ride with the student on the bus).
