Chalk It Up This Weekend

Chalk It Up 2011 is here – Take the Family to Fremont Park  this Saturday – Monday, September 3rd-5th.

Celebrate the talents of hundreds of local artists and musicians at Sacramento’s favorite family festival. The three-day festival raises money to benefit children’s art education and draws tens of thousands of visitors to downtown Sacramento. Spend the day (or the entire 3-day weekend) with friends and family.  Best of all it’s FREE!

a young girl drawing on the sidewalkThis year promises to be even more exciting than the last 20 years.  We’ve added a wealth of new hands-on art activities for kids in the Kids Create A Zone, led by professional artists and groups like the Sacramento Public Library, ZuGh Life Store, Capitol Roots and many others. Yes it’s FREE!

Live music is featured all day long throughout the festival. This year’s Radio 94.7 Music Stage will feature 30 top-notch local acts including Walking Spanish, Dog Party with special guest Kepi, Adrian Bourgeois, Random Abiladeze and many more. Click the Performers tab above to see the full lineup.  You guessed it, the music is all FREE!

There will be great food available in the park with an array of gourmet food trucks, restaurants, and vendors like – Drewski’s Hot Rod Kitchen, Blackbird Kitchen & Bar, Tuli Bistro, Mama Kim’s, Little Rich’s Italian Ice, Senor Dog and Yolanda’s Tamales.

There is truly something for everyone from toddlers to teens to seniors. Take the Family.  Fremont Park – its FREE!
