Gingerbread Contest and Social
Our 5th Annual Gingerbread House Contest and Winter Fun Social is next week! It is a time to meet, greet, and have some fun before our long Winter Break.
Where: Feickert Elementary Room 26
Date: Thursday, Dec. 11
Each family is being asked to bring in a “small bites” snack to share. The healthier the better and please no peanut products. (fruit, cheese, juice boxes, crackers, veggies, and a sprinkling of a few “sugarplums” are always good choices).
All gingerbread structures are created and built at home and brought in that morning. Everyone present gets to vote on their favorite one and the top 3 win a prize. Please let us know if your student(s) will be entering this contest. (For ideas go to Google Images/Gingerbread houses)
Food, fun, frolic….all that is missing is you! So please plan on joining us for this event!
RSVP by Monday, Dec. 8, 3 PM.
Check out previous years’ work:
Feeling like a good story to get you in the mood for Thanksgiving? How about creating your own “I Am Thankful” tree?
Join us at 10:00, next Thursday, November 20 in Room 26 at Feickert for this holiday activity.
RSVP by Tuesday, November 18 if you plan to attend so we can be sure to have enough art supplies on hand.
Hope to see you there. Gobble, gobble.
EGVA has been busy.
First we went to Monster Golf..very fun, a little scary. They played great music and a few of us danced right there on the course.
We followed that activity up with the Great Race. Parents and students scoured the park for clues and did tasks to get tho the final: Toothpick Tower. The Girls won the course, Boys came in 2nd and parents LAST! Don’t worry parents you are first in our book!
Finally we got to celebrate our Honor Roll students for trimester 1 with Gold and Silver Honor Roll for A and B students. You guys are FAB!
The pictures below can also be found in the Photo section of the site as well.
The first trimester has come to a close and our scholars did great!!! Gold and Silver Honor Roll students will be celebrated November 6, 2014 at 11am at Feickert. Your teacher has contacted you if you are one of the select Honor Rollees. Congrats!!!
Hello EGVA Families! Time to slick back that hair and polish those teeth! Say “Cheeeese!”
Pictures will be taken (for any interested students) on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014 at Feickert Elementary School…9351 Feickert Drive Elk Grove, CA 95624
If this is something you would like to do, please come to Feickert between 10 – 11:00 A.M. on Sept. 25. Check in at the office, and the office staff will direct you to the photographer.
Please open the Picture Day link and it will give you more details on how to order and pay for this wonderful school tradition. (Pictures are taken individually, not as a group.)
The school year if off to a great start! We are going to celebrate with our Back to School Social at Leatherby’s Family Creamery located at 8238 Laguna Blvd, Elk Grove, Ca 95758 916.691.3334 (https://leatherbys.net)
Each student will have a choice of sandwich, french fries, a sundae and unlimited sodas for $10.
Parents, friends and family are all welcome, please let your teachers know how many kids and adults will be attending by Friday September 12th so we can prepare. All kids and students will pay as one tab so please bring $10 in cash to make the process easier. All adults of course can dine but unfortunately one of the downfalls of adulthood are adult pricing….separate tabs for you; you can wallow in ice cream, that should make you feel better.
We will of course have something fun planned for the kids that will allow the parents to mingle if they so choose. See you on Tuesday September 16 @11:30
We are all set to enjoy a step back in time at Old Sacramento’s School House, next Friday, August 29. We will meet in front of the Old School House on Front Street, at 12:15. (see link below for directions and links for activities, etc..) Our session begins at 12:30. The cost is $Free!
Afterwards, mosey around the streets and partake of the fun and excitement of days gone by, grab an ice cream, join a group touring the underground of Old Sac, journey down the river on a paddle wheeler, …whatever you fancy!
Feel free to dress in period costume/western wear if you want, but not required.
