The Elk Grove Unified School District’s (EGUSD) Board of Education invites the community to participate in the process of selecting the next superintendent. The Board has launched a search to find the best superintendent to meet the needs of a diverse and growing district of over 62,000 students and 5,000 employees. EGUSD is the largest district in Northern California and the 5th largest in the state. In June, Superintendent Steven M. Ladd, Ed.D., announced his retirement as of September 12, 2014. Ladd is the 5th superintendent in the District’s 55 year history.
In order to engage the community in the conversation, there will be eight meetings held in early August at four high schools. The meetings will be held as follows:

Florin High School – Library

Thursday, August 7, 2014

In addition, there will be a survey posted on the District website at www.egusd.net.
The information gathered will give guidance to the Board on the attributes that the community feels are important to consider in the next superintendent. The information provides an opportunity for the Board to receive valuable communication on the direction of the school district. Lastly, the comments, suggestions, and recommendations will be given to the newly selected superintendent as a reflection of EGUSD.
The Board has hired a professional search firm, McPherson & Jacobson, LLC, to assist in finding a new leader for our District. Representatives from the search firm will lead the community discussion and analyze the survey results. For more information and updates, please visit the EGUSD website at www.egusd.net.
