Partner With Us – Parent LCAP Survey

The Elk Grove Unified School District (EGUSD) believes that family and community engagement is a fundamental component to student success and achievement and appreciates your trust and commitment. We ask that you partner with us and share your hopes and dreams for preparing your student to be college, career and life-ready upon graduation.

As we work together to create our Local Control & Accountability Plans (LCAP), we encourage each and every family and community member within the Elk Grove Unified School District to provide us with their valuable input on how best to prioritize funding for programs and services by filling out the Parent LCAP Survey:

Lawsuit Forces California Department of Education to Release Student Private Personal Data

The California Department of Education (CDE) has been ordered by the courts to release to a nonprofit called California Concerned Parents the “protected personal information of children, including children with disabilities, children who requested an assessment or who were assessed for special education eligibility, and children who are attending, or who have attended a California school at any time since January 1, 2008.”
The Elk Grove Unified School District was never involved in the lawsuit or subject to any of the allegations in the suit.  The CDE is required by the court directive to turn over the personal records of all students it collects statewide. Data collected by the state from EGUSD is limited.

Digital Citizenship – Adults Need to Know More

If your children have access to a computer, smartphone or tablet you can help guide them as they travel online. Most parents would not let their children travel alone after dark in the real world and yet they often don’t know what their children are doing online. The online world can be a dark and scary place. The two resources below will help you and your children learn the facts of using any device connected to the Internet.

Although students at Elitha Donner learn digital citizenship throughout the school year, you can reinforce what they learn and guide them at home as well.

Draft LCAP 2015-2018 Review and Comment Opportunity

One of the most important features of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) and Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) is providing an opportunity for parent, community, teachers, staff, and students voices to be heard as important EGUSD decisions are being made regarding academic priorities and budget. LCFF provides a framework for districts to work with their communities and implement locally tailored approaches to achieve greater student outcomes. EGUSD is in the process of soliciting input from ALL of its stakeholders. Please use the comment area on the LCFF/LCAP website to give us your suggestions and/or thoughts on the EGUSD Draft 2015-2018 LCAP.
