In a recent after school class, students created monsters from soda bottles. The teacher hacked the sound module, removing the play button, and then soldered each copper trace to a separate wire. Each wire was attached to an alligator clip, with one clipped to the foil around the mouth; the other clipped to a long handled tweezers. The object of the game is similar to the game of Operation: remove a piece of candy from the monster’s mouth without contacting the foil with the tweezers. Soldering to the tiny copper traces is an operation in itself.
